hey folks,

something i've been working on in some spare time for a while now. really just a combination of a few projects (bike project and a model from some character animations that never really were completed) that i put together on a whim and i'm fairly happy with the end product.

anyhow, figured i'd post here and see what everyone thought :)

max5, brazil, a little photoshop (for specular bloom)

it looks very "odd"!

on one hand you have the photoreal harley, and on the other the over-the-top toon robot!

very nice nevertheless

if anyone is interested, i've uploaded a bigger (1600x1200) version of the pic (although its got a good bit of compression on it, as not to kill my sites bandwidth for the month). if anyone wants a better look the pic is here:

saltank: ya maybe some relflections on him too u think?

i'm open to any suggestions on the robots materials as the way he looks now was really just due to me experimenting with getting a crosshatched/hand-drawn look

interesting idea, but i would rather see the robot in a damaged metal material.

I like it, and pretty much for the fact that its original. I've seen soom similar things done, but they were in 2D. So I think this is bitchen, you should take some time and make a short little animation, I'm sure it would turn out great.

b-holm: just for the record, that bike is actually one of the new indians, a 2001 indian chief to be specific :D so it wouldn't be _that_ out of the ordinary to see one in good condition :)

imo, maybe the red is too bright, if you could desaturate that a bit i think it might improve it
