I am new to wings and having some difficulty figuring this out. Does every time the app get released the plugins need to be re-compiled?

Which is the version people most use, and with what combination of plugins?

I generally use the latest version and there are no plugins for that. You'll need to check on the plugins pages (links at www.wings3d.com) for the latest version that Clacos' and Kayos' plug work. I think it was 0.98.08c. Not sure though.
Hopefully Clacos' plug will be incorporated into the Wings app before too long. - Baz
