This reel was rendered and cut together in 1 weekend. There are still a few
problems with it.

Used maya, zbrush, after effects

Nice models. nice rigid modeling :D

why such a quick time to render and cut them?

on a picky note.....the smoothing on the chicks pants needs to be sorted it is still faceted :O

....and the last render of the robot needs a tiny bit more love....there a bit of shimmering happening...maybe final gather sample??? and the camera zoom i don't think does anything for it...

over all though good models and pretty decent render and cut for a weeks work.

how long did you spend making the assets before you started rendering?

good stuff keep it up!

Kieran.

Thanks man,

The reason I had such little time to make this is because I am a graphic design student, and we don't have an allocated assignment to make a reel. I got notice from a studio that wanted me to send them my showreel, so I had to make it all in 1 weekend :banghead:

The robot clip was actually made over a year ago, and i'm planning on remaking it when I get time.

Assets have been made in some of my free time over the last year. Hard to say exactly how long I spent on them.

Cheers bro ;)

It's a shame you just had a weekend but you made the best out of it. Nice models. I like the pose and weight of the woman. The robot looks cool by itself but I don't really buy the transformation. Looks like an aweful amount of mass gained there from the little Ipod. The rest of the models are well done too albeit maybe a bit run of the mill. No problems with that though but it would be cool to see them animated to make them stand out from all the other car and tank models out there. For example you could keep the same turntable camera and model base but have the vehicles look like they're driving along a surface? You could have the surface come in and out of the base and make the wheels / tracks move, the cannon and turret turn, etc. Dunno, just an idea to spiff up your next reel but hopefully you won't need one for a while if you get the job. Good luck!
