CGTalk - Named Selection Sets

I have a fairly complex scene with some selection sets. So I hit the named selection sets button to edit the sets and it hangs for like two minutes. Finally comes up. What a worthless piece of code. Is there a fix for how slow this function is? It is essentially useless in Max 5.1
