Hello CG Talk,

Could someone help me with a process I am confused on? Basically I took separate pieces of a model and sculpted them separately in Zbrush. I then exported the hi-res version of those pieces back into Maya and now I want to extract the detail onto one normal map within Maya. It is a process someone else got me started on and kind of explained but never helped me follow through with. Something about using transfer mesh attributes or something to get the normal information off the hires pieces and onto the lowres. If anyone knows about this workflow then please post it or shoot me an e-mail. Thanks.

http://3dtotal.com/ -> free stuff -> tutorials -> creating a next gen vehicle , this tutorial explains transfering high poly detail into a normal map, it uses only maya for modelling so no zbrush pipleine , but it expalins using transfer maps
