Hey guys... seems I have to rerender an old file (an ocean render pass) but it was so long ago we have since upgraded maya versions. I am using the ocean shader. There is a noticeable difference in the actual render of the water. I believe the orginal was done in maya 8.. and now im using maya 2008.

Anybody have any insight to what attributes have been modified. Seems the water scale is one but I bet there is others. Knowing how these have changed would really save me trying to recreate the preious look that was signed off!

or install another maya just for this render!

Cheers in advance!

Hi There,

Under Ocean Attribute, new filter has been added (Horizon_Filter) in Maya 2008, the default value is 1 change it to 0 to get your old wave info. The new filter will reduce jitter in ocean at the horizon which in turn will reduce the bump value.

I hope this could help. :-)
