Nice modelling, I'm not entirely sure about the movement of the camera - looks like you got Superman drunk and gave him a camcorder to play around with. Overall though, I do like the modelling and texturing work you've done on the buildings.

That was close. It was actually Spiderman. This was the original concept for the Spiderman DVD. Each animation like this one was to be used for a transitiion to a part of the menu. Long story short, the heads of Sony/Columbia Tri-Star and the Director decided to go with footage from the movie for the menus...BORING! Oh well, I still got to design the Goblin menus on the second disc.

Nyah ha! That explains the camera movement and why you had it moving like it did. I've never actually seen the Spiderman film but looking at things from a Spidey point of view is an excellent idea, it just gives you that feeling of what a rush he must get from swinging around all over the place.:applause:

No. I did it all in Maya. I worked from actual maps of Midtown Manhattan. Here's a wideshot of the model.

It took about 2 months to build the city. I'll work on a new fly through animation. You can see more of the (unfinished) city in this animation:

Here's a mirror link to the animation you created as promised. Let me know when you have the full one and I'll replace this one.

I can see my old office in there!
I think.
Your city is a lot cleaner than the one I go to!!!
I would love to see some animation with a more "stable" camera.
Great Job!

You can find axonometric (3D Drawing) city maps at www.maps.com. I searched for "Manhattan" and found some good maps. I also went to a book/maps store and found an old axonometric map of New York.
