hi, if i have a maya unlimited license for my workstation, and we get complete licenses for the 2 nodes on our small farm - will we be able to do nparticles and ncloth and stuff on the projects and render with mental ray on all three machines? We're not prepared to set up a MR standalone setup.

License will allow you to do that. In fact Maya Batch render will allow you to spool a batch render job to network nodes. I haven't setup Maya workstation services this way before, so I can't tell you how, but I know it can be done.

cool thanks for the input. Got qmaster working (kind of) for batch jobs on a few macs for now. It's pretty buggy though, I'll look into maya batch distribution, would be cool if it worked wonderfully :)
