Title: Kitchen in a big house
Name: Stanislav Orekhov
Country: Russia
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

It is a kitchen in a big house. It this house all rooms are made with this style. Architector was trying to put a style of Clive Christian in this house. I would like to hear you comments at this pictures. Thank you

WOW! Do you have a base mesh for this and a breakdown of how it was made?

It's beautiful. Very nice details except the ceiling. It doesn't really fit in. I also don't like the repeating textures on the floor. All the other things are awesome and it's a very unique piece.

nice work mate! but imho the resolution is very low and result impossible to appreciate the finest details:D

That the image's compression is what's killing the details. It does look like a photograph though in many ways! The floor texture could use the attention you gave to the rest...

AWESOME work as usual . How did you make the wood ?

11-06-2008, 12:57 PM
This is simply beautiful, but I do agree. Could you share a higher resolution version? I'd really like to see more details and the low resolution/compression is hurting the final result.

Looks good, too bad about the heavy compression (blurry in some areas)

Amazing work. I really like the sunlight slanting through the windows - nice touch.

How long did it take you, from start to finish? And any chance we can see your wires?

Nice one. :applause:

nice work. The only thing I don't like is that every tile on the marble floor is identical. Some variation in there would really help it.

Really well done though.

Nice as hell:twisted: Almost perfect photorealism, and not too bad design of a kitchen either:p

Only thing I can crit is that the reflectance of the floor is a bit too much to me, both that you can see the bright specular spots from the lamps, and that you see pretty much the entire room in the floor. Also, but that probably more to tell the kitchen designer, the wood work pattern is a little disturbing.

Great work. 5*

very nice work. especially with the texturing, although i agree with others' comments about the floor texture tiling.

i do feel that the GI solution could be a bit tighter (there are some floating objects). a little AO for the chair legs and other objects would help.

i also think the compositions could be improved a little by giving some breathing space to objects near the edge of the canvas (chairs and central surface etc). the 1st image, for example, could be angled slightly more to the right so the door is not so dominant and the lamp on the right doesn't touch the edge. this would make the objects sit more naturally within the composition and give the illusion the space is bigger than it really is.

the ceiling is illuminated slightly strangely also but could be tweaked in photoshop very easily.

and im sure it's a client request but the coffee machine really stands out as not in keeping with the period style, perhaps something older or a darker material to sit more comfortably with the wood might help.

overall great work though. I'm sure your client was extremely pleased!

I like the pictures too, very warm ambience. Great work and amount of detail there.
But.. ;-) 2 things disturbed me a little.
The reflection from the floor reflects the highlights from the kitchen unit, but not the units itself where they have contact to the floor.
It seems like they floating a bit over the floor.

I miss the shadow on the ground from the trees on the outside.
The way the sunlight falls in the room, the trees wouldnt be so bright and cast shadow towards the House.

The rendering is superb, lighting and composition is lovely.
However, I must disagree on the texturing being that good. Beside the floor tiling, also the main texture the wood is very unconvincing. Not only that it looks arbitrarily set and you can see some repeating patterns but also if you have a slight knowledge about wood manufacturing then the textures don´t really make sense. The texture shows low-quality wood, then again some parts are of mid quality and then in some areas it seems to have high-quality wood manufactured. Overall not a convincing texturing at all.

Overall good work concerning modeling and lighting, but texturing is not on the same level. So only 4 stars from me. :)

very good work my friend ,but i think the wood texture is a bit too hard (over saturated or just too visible, think like bringing down the transparency a bit ) also the grains of the wood need to be scaled a bit or avoid putting textures in which the grain are very prominent, other than that dude, nice

It seems to me that the ceiling isn't fitting in with the main scenery of the first pic, but it is in the second.. And the same for the floor only then otherwise..

Lovely though,

Hi Stanislav!

It is always a pleasure to review your works. I really admire your talent. Some times I visit your site which is also full of stunning renderings. Recently I had a chance to work with your scene ( I think it was one of yours). It was really well done and we did not have any problems with its incorporation in our model. Venue name was Murano, if you know what I'm talking about. Could you possibly tell me if had worked Celebrity Solstice cruise liner? I and my team finished it's cutaway a fortnight ago. And I'd like to know your opinion )

Nice work man!
But I have some observations if u like.
The reflex on the floor is too much. And the kind of tile looks cheap. Looks like a bad new promotion.....and believe me .... i know......
i would try with a fesnel/cam and 1 horny marble/stone & spec
Also the ceiling 40% less yellow/brown than the wall, white sucks man, looks like is gonna take off. The effect is ****ing strange down my opinion. Maybe u did it already but the light ****ed it.
If u change more dark the tone of the furniture , or less light, all what u have on will jump out making more compex the scene, right now is so flat
All the contact area between the furniture and the floor looks fake, like copy/pay.
the work is nice but the integration no bro sorry.
Use the external light 100% u have it so do it, the hdri is not gonna fix the problem here;) this is 1 interior http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?unfold_exclusive=86&unfold=exclusive
http://www.evermotion.org/?unfold_exclusive=302&unfold=exclusive
I dont understand the space out ......wrong in perspective and wrong in the saturation, too forced. If the hdri works for u change it in photoshop man maybe a glow is enought. we are the glow & shine generation dont forget that...hahahaha
Maybe the red out is better.....autumn....;)
And 1 thing more i miss, some glass with the wood...maybe the model is like this but if u integate glass shelves with lights...u konw what i mean.... u will make more rich the range of materials on the scene
Sorry man but i think u know it.....maybe to fix it u can not go for party next weekend.....but...... wellcome to the club
Im not better than U bro. This is my opinion and i could be wrong...but not at all ;)
I do the same mistakes all the time cose the deadlines.
NICE WORK
Here i find some suggestions i find for u. Not the best i know... but i dont have more time sorry......
Photoshop is an other option but not the best.
Good luck and NEVER STOP BRO.
This the kind of observation i love my friend do to me.....no....AAAA...IM COMING......

excellent job !

personally i prefer previous version : warmer, less saturated and less overexposed, excepting ceiling texture too uniformed (i don't feel light spreading/absorption on it) and luster seeming made in bad quality transparent plastic, and ground maybe too reflective (i get confused between its own texture and texture reflected).

in second version, i really like the sober dark ground reflection excepting (...lol) bright reflective line at the foot of the central furniture/table.

excellent architectural work in textures and rendering !
well done*

Just about the only renders I have ever seen that manages to capture a sense of realism without resorting to new-age single color walls and cubic furniture.

The wood gives tremendous warmth to the image.

Just excellent. My measuring stick for my own renders, I haven't reached this yet in terms of quality... but maybe... someday ;)

The floor shows that only one piece of tile was re-used, and the ceiling is a tad blown out and lacking some flair.
Otherwise it's about as photo-real as I've seen. Amazing work.
