View Full Version : best way to map an automobile???

If I have a car mesh that contains the whole car body (including front and back bumper, root, hood), what is the best way to uvw unwrap this mesh so I can apply a decent texture map to it??

if your mesh is complex, you should consider splitting the mesh up into various parts.

An alternative to that is to use sub materials with material ids.

Using a single texture on an entire car is only efficient for relatively simple meshes.
