awesome design, looking creepy. His left-'feet' looks weird though.
06-12-2003, 10:06 PM
that is freaky

Left leg looks fine to me..
kinda reminds me of those playing cards everyone used to have... "magic" was it?
lookin sweet man:thumbsup:

WHOOW this one s cool. Reminds me of these mythical greek female monsters, harpins or something. I don't know, what i know is that this one is just incredibly
06-12-2003, 10:55 PM
I like the hair, the solider and the mountains look somewhat unfinished.
Otherwise a very nice piece.

I love the colors and contrast...The details are great as well. The effect of the blood in the standing pouddle is great.
Keep it up:thumbsup:

Cool.. This reminds me of the picture my 3 year old nephew did the other day.. which is what I would compare this 'thing' to..
I'm sure if aliens came to this planet and saw a picture like this, they would think that there is absolutely no creativity at all in this world.
sad sad sad
aaaahhh.. the joys of trashing your workmates... nothing like it ;)
I like the unfinished look around the focal point.

Love it! You ARE the master finger painter! Excellent!
06-12-2003, 11:44 PM
YEAH! That freaking ROCKS!! Literally! Did that monster fly in from the 80's to bring rockmusic back to the dark ages?
I think the painting would be more believeable if the groupy the rocker is eating also had big hair.
The monster needs to be more androginous and be wearing make-up to be from the 80's though... In fact!!! Where's the guitar???!?!?
sorry I changed my mind, If you want it to be a statement that 80's rock crosses all barriers, you'll need to do a bit more research...

I've always loved Tina Turner portraits. And this one in no exception, her legs and hair are perfect representations.
But seriously all kidding aside, I like it, you do good work. I like the less detailed background too, brings out the creature that much more.
06-12-2003, 11:48 PM
This is pretty cool, that one creature looks defensive as hell, like he's ready to fend against the others for his prize. Doesn't come off as pack animals. Anway, good image.

hey this is great work. i just installed Painter Classic about an hour ago and i've been playing around with my wacom and stuff. the thing is, i dunno what do when i have a blank canvas infront of me. it just feels so weird, cos on paper i come up with stuff right away.
your other 2d stuff rocks too. how do u work? do u do a penicl skeych first and scan it in? what pixel size do u work in painter with and what brushes?
i'm just a punk ass noob looking for tips hehe:airguitar
as usual, very nice work blackarts!
That's really awesome... Coloring is great as well the light FX!
My only complain is the size of the soldier corpse in ralation to the creature. It seems very out of perspective, the soldier looks like a midget or a childrem (Size speaken!)
Other than this awesome job!
I gotta work around with painter some more. Thoes works keeping amazing me!

Did the myth about mothman inspire you?
Anyway, great piece of art

U R Wicked in Painter!:bounce:

Maximillion: maybe I can borrow some of your makeup and put it on the creature?
goosh: I'm off to slit my wrists, thanks!
TuLe : the monster is supposed to be bigger than the guy. But I concede my perspective needs work.
ninjacore: yeah I usually work from a loose sketch...block in everyhting, and then start sculpting forms out. It's taken me about 6 months to really get comfortable with painter...my first attempts were pretty laughable. I use a bunch of different brushes...just experiment and find ones that suite you. I usually work in very high res....about 3500x2700 or thereabouts.
nObedienz: mothman man is cool....but this was more inspired by those harpies from greek mthyology.
06-13-2003, 12:46 AM
love the image....a crossing between a human, monkey and a bat....love the hair/fur that runs up his wings....makes the wings belong to him even more....and b/c humans, bats and monkeys usually hunt together....I would say that defensive stance is from possible soliders that are coming over to help their fellow team mate....seeing this, that other creature that's flying in is trying to get a piece of the action before he has to fight again....
but that's what I see....
06-13-2003, 12:46 AM
very well done! love it

Very cool Darkarts. I'm impressed with the unique face, and the way you were able to build a believable facial/muscel structure around it. Someday maybe I can pretend to be as good as you. Keep it up!

Man thats cool.:buttrock:

Nice work Blackarts
Is this the end of the soldier or is he being helped?
Son of Octropos

Excellent lighting, rendering, and etc. there
I think the issue some have had with the left leg is that the foot is turned out more from the knee than it would be on a human- but hey, humans don't have wings either ;-)
I hesitate to end on just another me too, but
