Hey guys i'm messing around in max with normal maps and trying to get get the best look of normal maps and textures in the viewport.

The first question is to do with shaders. Thus far i am using a standard Direct X shader, which unfortunately only allows me to use one light as reference. Apart from the metal Bump shader which isn't as good, with alphas and so on, are there any good shaders out there, that will allow me to add multiple lights in a scene.

Secondly my textures don't show up amazing within the viewport, as well as some over exposion of textures. I first thought this was to do with my specular maps, but it doesnt. its to do with the colour intesity of my diffuse. Now ive had some problems with my monitors before, and cant seem to get them to display contrast levels correctly, but i dont think its the end and all of. I think the view port within max is just abit... well rubbish. So wondering how other people present there game models, with normal maps. Ive tried X normals program, but fell at the first hurdle as it only seemed to allow the assignment of 1 texture page.

Thanks for the help guys.

Hey,
Any luck with that vieport shader of yours?!
I have been playing around with (http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=56421) for a while now and its a really nice shader for Max's viewport!
Try this shader and see how your display comes out?!
