Howdy all, long time lurker, seldom poster.
Recently I've been playing with animations and physics, as opposed to just texturing and modelling.
I'm working on a small visual effects piece, mainly for my own intellectual amusement. I'm going to blow a hole through my apartment wall, window and door.
Now the hard fx simulation for cracking the wall seems fine - it's pretty simple hard fx, in fact, I haven't had much to change (yet!).
However, I'm a little stumped about the door. The door is a metal patio door and, obviously, I don't want it to shatter. I haven't been able to find any tutorials on hard fx and bending metal. As an added complication, the door has a long glass pane through the middle of it, so that does need to shatter.
Any thoughts, directions, ideas would be greatly appreciated.
