View Full Version : Female Character Base WIP
CountSmackula 11-02-2008, 09:39 PM Just doing some work for my personal portfolio, and I started gathering reference and source material for a female cyberpunk ganger. Once I get a new scanner, I'll be able to scan in some of the concept and inspirational material that got me going. For now, I wanted to post my character base, currently WIP.
I'm currently working with the high-poly in ZBrush, and I'm still at the stage where of getting all the correct proportions and shapes before getting into too much surface development and detailing. If anything looks weird, out of place, disproportionate or just plain bad, please point it out, cause I want to get a solid foundation before I start really building.
Thanks!

Her butt looks tight from side view. Tight like a tiger. (been t hinking of that movie all morning...smoke and a pancake?). Anyway. It looks like she might be afraid that the bubbling noise coming her stomach might leak out her ass. I'd suggest loosening it up a bit, but thats just my 2 cents.

Hey, ArtisticEndeavors (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=328582), thanks for the feedback! It always helps to have a second set of eyes to make some adjustments (especially in the shape and proportion phase). I've made some minor and moderate changes to some shapes and proportions (most notably her bust and buttocks).
Feedback, woot!

Hey, just made some updates to this character; made some adjustments to her torso, legs, hands and face. I'm pretty happy at where it is in terms of proportions and general shapes, and the next thing I want to get into is detailing the face, and body before I put this base to use for a character project. Feedback please!

Feedback Please!!! It's been nothing but tumbleweeds on this thread!

The only crit I can offer on the face is that it looks a bit chubby from the front to have such a slender "angolina jolie" jawline from the side. To me the 3/4 view looks a bit weird...maybe thats because of the point I made earlier. That's just my say on it, im struggling with anatomy so take it for what its worth.

Thanks for the feedback ArtisticEndeavors! I made some adjustments based on your feedback, and I think it looks way better. I took some mass out of her upper cheek (side and front) and smoothed out the bump along her brow.

I've been moving a bit slow in this project, mainly because things have been busy at work and I'm juggling two projects at a time. But now that the base proportions and features are down, I expect to make some big moves on this character.

The body is great the but the face, I think the forehead is to manly.

Hey, barrab, thanks for the compliments and mucho gracias for the feedback/critique. I went and took some mass out of her outer and inner brown, and tried to develop a softer, more gentle transition between the orbital cavities, her forehead and the bridge of her nose. The changes are pretty subtle but I think it went in the right direction based off your comments.
