I did a quick search and could not find anything on this.

Are there any experience values on what is the most suitable external renderer for xStream?

The point is not so much what is available to me, but which app and renderer handle Vue scenes most efficiently in regards to look and speed, and how much separate tweaking is involved for a decent result.

I'd very much appreciate some input on what you guys are using and how you are faring with it as compared to rendering in Vue itself.

Cheers!

Whatever the software used, Vue elements are always rendered by the Vue renderer.

Aha! I didnt know that. Thanks for the insight.

Is there another point to using an external renderer then, other than integration (shadows etc)?

Cheers!

This depends on your main app. if you use Max, XSI or Maya, the only compatibles renderers are MR and Maya renderer. If you use C4D, you can only use the advanced renderer.
There are rumours about VRay, but they are only rumours atm.

Thanks again for the answer. :)
May I ask what combo of app and external renderer you use?

Cheers!
