Excellent! You've achieved a great level of realism indeed! The small hair/fur in both the hat and clothing is fantastic! Can you share how you did it? standard hair&fur too?

My only crits would be just for two things: I feel that the skin in his fingers is just too much wrinkled, even for his age, as he's not stretching them, between the knuckles the skin should be more stretched. The other thing i think is a little bit overdone is the beard, it stands out a lot, i mean the white part, is again a tad brighter than i think it would on those lighting conditions. But thats just my feelings :)

Anyway, 5*!! Thanks for this wonderfull piece of such a great actor!

I agree with you, the result of the Hair in Mental Ray is not good, I like more the result of the scanline. But my trouble in this way, is then I don´t know how to work with this layers.
My problems to work with the mesh rendered in MR and the hair rendered in Scanline, is because shadow of the hair in the scanline. Mostly if I have a SSS object.
You make a light only for the hair? How you work with the shadows? and how you made in the post-production? If you could explain more of your workflow on this, I´ll be thankful.

Hi Spinho, in this case, I didn´t render the hair shadows, because Morgan has short hair. it´s important to render the hair with AO(another layer), so we have a better integration.

This work is really amazing. I love that you can see the dust on his hat and the threads of the cloth. I hate to be repetitive but I think that the only imperfection in the work is the eyes- which stand out because the rest of the work is so amazing. If you look at the distance of the eyelid to the iris of the eye you can see the difference. While it may be right in the model it is the still shot that we see here and I think that you could even just tweak it in post to correct that tiny thing. This work is 5 stars for sure. I am really inspired.

The fur is simple is Max hairfur system, I reduced the scale and density. I changed default parameters, it´s easy to use.
