View Full Version : Help. Texture size...
MrNovak 11-01-2008, 01:53 PM Hi.
I need to know. How to set the texture size when going from POLIPAINT to TEXTURE. (color>textures).
I always get the default 1024.

To have a higher resolution texture applied, go into the texture menu and change your width and height to the desired resolution. Then hit "create new". A new texture will be placed in your texture icon with the resolution you specified. Now make sure you have 'colorize' off and then do color->texture. Voila, you should have a higher resolution texture now. :)

I've run into this too.
I've tried using a 2048 cavity map as the texture to paint over and you can do that if you select texture>color, but when you create the texture map from it it turns out as 1024, even though the cavity map is 2048.

I don't normally use ZBrush for texturing, but I can't get an image map larger than 1024, even when creating a new one at 2048.
I know there's something funky about it involving the "fill" color and what mat is applied at the time, just can't remember what to do and what I'm doing wrong.
For as awesome a program as ZBrush is, there's alot that could stand to be more intuitive.
