Title: Forlornly.
Name: Waheed Nasir.
Country: Pakistan
Software: Painter, Photoshop

hello there...:). "Forlornly", is my recently finished painting, in photoshop and painter, using tablet. here, i went with a slightly different approach and lighting, closer to cinematic fashion rather than what i usually do, though i love this as well...:). ive kept it simple yet strong and expressive and worked for a scene showing a mansion in a forlorn state but with a tinge of hope. went thru few refs at the time i was planning this, for mountains and the building. but didnt follow anything and composed it according to my own taste. the mood, light, time and composition are all self visualized.

hope u like and enjoy watching it.

thank you and cheers.

It's beautiful. Nice to see you trying a different style, although I love your 'usual' style.

cheers,
Matthias

its a good effort, but i think if you could do something about the darkness at the lower end of the image it is distracting http://www.cgexpanse.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/smile.gif one more thing man .. the little tree things sprouting at the edge of the foremost hill are not looking like trees looking more like wild grass. my recommendation remove them cause they are totally destroying the scale of the whole thing. compare castle with the grass and you shall see the difference...

BTW the blue area of the picture is nicely painted. and also the key looks good. but could have been made better.

thanks a lot phoenix...:). i appreciate the input and the kind appreciate.

i get your point, the reason behind the foreground being dark and barren, is the approach i went with, im glad i even have already mentioned it in the description in the start. cinematic lighting doesnt really follow realistic rules at times. its about defining focus, story telling, making a particular impact etc. thru the kind of lighting that doesnt necessarily has to follow realistic lighting situation. i hope i managed to make my point in this short description..:).
other than the dark part, those are plants and shrubs, i didnt paint a proper tree in that area, but i guess i shouldve considered the point u are making here, i agree with you...).

thanks and good day.

Once again truly amazing work.. Each and every piece of yours makes me stare for a looong long time and ask myself "How the hell is he doing it...?" :-)
I love your style, I'd gladly have that (as most of your paintings for that matter) hanging on my wall :-)
Regards.
