View Full Version : Maya Hair Global Scale

Hey Everybody,

I somehow ran into this problem which will most likely be the easiest to solve with one click or numerical value somewhere.
I've modeled a character, but the character is HUGE relative to the grid. Because it's motion captured and we had gotten a rig that we shouldn't adjust but just model on top of... LOL.
But now I've got two curves using hair dynamics on the model, but the movements per frame are RELATIVELY huge! Because my character is so big, it moves way more per frame relative to a world space unit, because he is so big. Because of this the hair dynamics get slapped all around, because it thinks it's moving really fast, but instead it's just a really big model, moving very little per frame.

Is there an option within the Hair Dynamics, to adjust the global scale of the Hair Dynamics... or a workaround?

Also because of the 'relatively' huge movements I get penetration with a collision object, because I need more 'calculations' between the frame because it thinks it's a huge movement in one frame. A bigger global scale would make my calculations less precise, but WOULD fix this problem for a big percentage, instead of having to keep making the "Collide over Sample" a really high number and having long long calculations.

Hope somebody can help me out here, thanks.
Roy
