View Full Version : I just got a call from Maxon.
milqman 06-12-2003, 01:45 AM Alright, I am not a Cinema 4D user, however, I got curious the other day and downloaded the demo, filling out a form first giving them my phone number
They called me asking me how the download went and if it is working fine for me.
That is awesome customer support! And I ain't even a customer!
Kudos, Maxon.

Yeah, Maxon customer support is great. I've recieved several calls from Rafi since i first bought cinema 4d asking me how it's going etc, letting me know what updates are available etc. Bless her.
Maxon really do have great customer service.

not meaning to hijack the thread at all but i thought while you were on a good customer service topic.... i recently downloaded Mokey from www.mokey.com. Apart from it being a very cool program and the best demo i've ever downloaded...(it has a built in tutorial that takes over your mouse and does the steps for you one by one to show you how to use it)... the follow up service was excellent. I didnt get a phone call but i got personal follow up emails to see how my download went and how i was going with it. When i responded that i was just checking out the software for a possible project thats about a year away they responded with good wishes for the project to get off the ground and offers of taking a look at any problem footage that we might have to see if their experts can find good solutions to our problems in their package...

PS... i am in no way connected to this company i just thought they desreved a good rap

I've gotten a couple follow up emails as well. The one thing I always appreciated was that although they are friendly and do reach out to folks - they have never been "pushy."
of course not they are not paid enough to be pushy.
no really they are good, most 3d companys are i bet. Simply because there product is so expensive. One copy of the XL bundle is like 30-40 copies of warcraft.

I contacted them quite a while ago with a problem I was having and I didn't hear a dicky bird back from them.
It was the first time I'd gotten so stuck with something that I couldn't figure out myself so I thought they might be able to help (seeing as though everyone says how great their support is).
I know this isn't the norm though so I'm not too bothered by it.
did you call or email? You are more likely to get to a good response if you call.

What exactly is a "dicky bird"???
Rafi called me after I downloaded the demo, I was impressed already with the program but that level of customer service is what prompted me to buy the software much sooner then I had planned.
As far as technical support, I haven't had a need to contact them so I can't speak about how good or bad that is.

Considering how poorly implemented C4D dyanmics is,
it should be free

Dicky bird:
Noun. Rhyming slang for word. Usually heard in a negative sense. E.g."We've not heard a dicky-bird from Andy since he moved."
The request was through the web site. I did get an automated email response saying that I was in a queue. They must be really busy. It was only a month ago I suppose.

With all fairness, I"ve been quite hard on dynamics myself, but after a recent comment I and some others made regarding dynamics I was shown some soft body examples that got me to shut up fast. Still haven't seen a lot of rigid bodies examples, but thats because the artist who showed me the said examples (will have to see if we can get a site with the examples up, maybe maxon should hos them) were done for tests of things such as flags and such.

Hi,

Thanks very much Srek but it was just about CB. I've managed to muddle on through.
I'm totally sure it wasn't an intentional thing.
