Title: Logan
Name: Brady Scott
Country: USA
Software: Painter

A portrait of my two year old son Logan Francis Scott. It wasn't easy painting a subject so close to my heart. A bit of constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

nice job, I can't help it but ask is that a birth mark on his arm?

Thanks guys and yes that's a birth mark. The real mark is a bit smaller, but it is shapped like a little butterfly. I have always thought it was kinda cool so I painted it in a bit more prominent.:)

another nice one, Brady. i especially like the background treatment. he's a doll. i thought the birthmark was a band aid. duh.

Ha, thanks Cnell. I guess I shouldn't exaggerate the birth mark so much. It seems to be a bit confusing.

Thanks guys. I have to ask Lukas (DBDK) what do you mean by "Living Image"? Just curious, thanks again.:)

Brady... It's hard to describe emotional response to art, isn't it? ;) I meant it 'made a connection', there's a very organic and emotional feel to this painting, an imprint of a moment. And I say this even though I am not much of a portrait lover and perhaps I would personally choose a bit less saturated colors for the shirt and the background. Now, does that make any sense? Nice work!

Yeah man, very clear. Thanks for the explanation. Ha, sometimes it's hard to interpret a response from halfway around the world. Thank you very much and best of luck to you.

I will definitely take your advice on the color. I have been working hard to improve my color choice. It has not always been my strong point. The skin tones where especially hard in this particular piece :)

Brady, please don't take me as seriously on the color choice; it was meant more as a reflection of my color preferences, than an 'advice'.
