Title: Arrival
Name: Bruce Richardson
Country: USA
Software: CINEMA 4D

They were so small, no one stopped to think if they were the good guys or the bad guys. All they thought of was that they sure were "purdy." The Dodecs. Who knew these creatures would prove to be crucial players in what was about to happen to the world forever...

Actually, I was just reading the C4D manual, did a platonic with an atomic nurbs added, and saw a possibility to portray the creature referred to above, which was discovered by my dad several years ago in a story he wrote. I've always thought it was a cool idea...

About a minute to render. M3 and texture isn't mine. The goggles stink, just trying to to an all-around good looking image. Realism is the goal... again.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

It is a great idea but I am having a hard time looking at the water. It seems very uniform and controlled. It feels like the waves need to be more spaced and random... sporadic.

Thank you both. This is a good start! Not quite so many harsh crits. I saw the water as calm anyway, so I didn't see waves, but I didn't try that hard either. I wondered about the water but haven't done many water renders, yet.

Thanks again.
