Title: When the Feeding is Done
Name: Mike Loranc
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, ZBrush
I haven't created anything gorey yet but I still wanted some humor in my image. Since it's Halloween, I started with a werewolf. While flipping through reference photos of dogs and humans, the thought of a werewolf playing fetch occurred to me. If the basic primal feeding instincts take over a werewolf then why wouldn't a dog's favorite past-time take over as well?
I made the base character model in 3DS Max. Details, texturing, and maps were created in ZBrush. The scene was modeled in 3DS Max except for the tennis ball, which also went through ZBrush. I rendered with Mental Ray.
The challenge of this image for me was creating fur without actually using Shave and a Haircut. I wanted the render times to stay shorter and for a lower poly model to be usable.
Happy Halloween!
