Title: Open 60 Race Yacht
Name: Dominic Alderson
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Maya

This image was created for a friend of mine, he is a round the world solo ocean sailor. Last Sunday, in the Live supplement of the Mail on Sunday, there was a 6 page article about his latest attempt to sail around the world. The images were created some time back when he was having his new boat built, they were made to help visualise his plans. Thought it would be a good time to show them :P

The images feature in the article.

Looks sharp. Though I don't know much about boats but it looks odd to have the "Boss" texture on the fins / ridges on the deck. But that's just minor. I would love to see her in water!

Thanks for the comments guys, I fear this kinda artwork doesn't fair too well on here given the low viewings. Ahh well good to share a variety of work and nice to see some appreciateing it. :p

P.S. idrez - Yeah the logo has to continue across the ridges so that no matter what angle the boat is leaning at, the logo is always as visible as possible. If you have a look at this PHOTO (http://www.alexthomsonracing.com/vendee/gallery/HB_damage_4.JPG) you will see how this was implemented all the way onto the final design. I think the render matched the final design pretty well given some later colour changes.

If I get time I'll have a go at sticking her into some water. :)
