View Full Version : glass in mental ray

Got a pretty basic mental ray setup with one regular skylight. Renderer changes: only FG turned on at draft preset. Lighting a clock on a curved backdrop. I also have a rectangular photometric light pointing directly at the clock's faceplate to light it up. Materials are arch & design and ratrace. My question is about the glass material. It's an arch&design mat with the solid glass preset. Nothing changed except for getting rid of the default blue tint. My problem is, now that it's not tinted, it's invisible. Even when I put a HDRI as the map for the skylight, there are no reflections in the glass.

The glass object is a standard cylinder. Note that the cylinder and the clock casing intersect on the glass edge (slightly too large). With my vray setup this was no problem, but here it might give complications (will try later). Any other thoughts?
