CGTalk - Lighting artifacts

I upgraded from 7.3 to 8 and I am having a problem with my lighting when rendered. The light that is cast has that look where you can see the seperation where the light intensity changes. I have changed AA to best and tried eveything but I can't fix it. I never had this problem with 7.3.

whats the colour depth of A) you GFXcard, and B) the image your rendering, only 16 bits and then you'll find this problem,24 and 32 bit the problem is gone.
