View Full Version : someone help me with rigging in maya 2008 !

in maya 2008, im working in the front view. i select my joint tool and when i click in the panel window my joint doesnt show up but it shows in all other views. whats up?

on the panel that it doesn't display the joint. go to "show > joints" if its already checked. uncheck it. then recheck it.

maybe the joint is outside the clipping planes of the front view?
or the front view is lower in Y than your joint
test this by unhiding the front vew in the outliner and check his position in persp view..

-Go to the outliner
-select the front view and unhide it by pressing Shift+h, or in channelbox put visibility to 1 or on
-now check in your perspective view if the front view is pointing towards your joint
- if it's not then it's looking away from your joint and will never be able to see it, so you'll have to move the front view so it does... probably by moving it in Z
-if it is then select your front view and in the attribute editor goto, frontshape, camera attributes, and change near clip plane to a smaller value (0.001) and the far clip plane to a bigger value. these values determine what range a camera is able to see..
(in my earlier reply I accidently changed, front with top view)

my front cam is pointing as it should be but no joy. take a look at the attached file.

and did you try changing the clipping planes?
