Hi all,

Here's a WIP of a cartoon character from my childhood, Mighty Mouse. Right now there are no materials or maps and he's not rigged either, thus the boring "T" pose.

I couldn't find much visual reference on the web for Mighty. Anyone have any links besides what a Google Image Search can offer?

Thanks for any comments,

Jim

(edit) Oh yeah, it was modeled in Animation Master v10.5.

I think you did a top notch job of capturing the character...I used to watch him as a kid and without looking at a ref i'd say you modeled him spot on....great job...4 stars:thumbsup:

Very nice modeling!
Very close to the original character!

Awesome job JT. Got more poses or wires?
Is he rigged and ready for animate?
Keep it up with new updates and animate it as well!

Congrats!

Looks excellent to me! So far as I can remember, there were two versions of Mighty Mouse that you might have seen. The earlier version had a lot of singing in it whereas the newer Ralph Bakshi version (who also did the animated version of Fellowship of the Ring) was much more of a parody show featuring characters like "The Cow" and "Bat-Bat and the Bug wonder"

Anyway, I digress - this is a great looking model - I love the fact that you've put him on a base as well. Once you've posed him, he'll look like a model figurine. Good work:thumbsup:

Very nicely done JT. The modelling is top shelf IMO and can't wait to see other views/wires. Keep up the good work.

Mighty Mouse indeed.

I'd definatly use alot of blend shapes and other squash and stretch techniques when animating that one. And those sweat drops too when he's flexing and dashing.

Sweet! It IS MM!! Really love that character - and your model is almost perfect. (Only almost, because I think the fingers look a little square....and I´m beeing very picky:) )
Great job !! :applause:

Good job; looks like him to me. Mighty Mouse always reminds me of these lines from the movie "Stand by Me":

Vern: You think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?

Teddy: What are you, cracked?

Vern: Why not?! I saw the other day he was carrying five elephants in one hand!

Teddy: You don't know nothin'. Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman is a real guy. No way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.

Vern: Yeah, maybe you're right. Would be a good fight though.

Teddy: Sheesh.

Remi- Thanks, you're too generous!

TuLe- I haven't rigged him yet but I am adding a shaded-wireframe screen capture to this post.

FallenSwordsman- Thanks! I saw many variations of Mighty through the years, such as his "eyebrow ridges" disappearing later on, sometimes he had gloves and others he didn't, etc.

Otos, SA1NT, Straightmark, kpalazov, izmal, The Cross, p0lym0rph, randyrives-
Thanks! I'm not an animator so I'll have to leave it up to someone else to get him moving. But I do plan on rigging him and posting some poses, heroic, of course.

pit- Thanks, I agree about the hands and will be working on them soon.

betelgeuse- LOL, I might have had that discussion when I was a kid. Thanks!

very cool! yes Mighty Mouse went through many revisions just like Tom and Jerry did over the years. This MM version is very cool.

Well, I reworked the hands, feet and arms a bit as suggested. Better?

Here's an update on Mighty Mouse. I'm working on rigging him and trying out some "heroic' poses. All done in Animation:Master, v10.5.

Thanks for any comments!

Fantastic - its nice to see you're still active on this model and I like the rigged update. I like the addition of gloves....no real criticisms about the latest image. Looks great:)

Hi,

Would you be interested in taking a crack at making a 3D Christopher Reeve Superman for my website www.capedwonder.com?

Thanks!
