View Full Version : What is happening to IC3D Mag??
MayaLuvr 01-11-2002, 11:31 PM Hi there,
Anyone else concerned about the new Maya magazine, IC3D?
For those that subscribed early, we were promised bi-monthly
issues - the first released at SIGGRAPH 01. That was in August if I'm not mistaken.
Having paid $195 (Australian) (to put that into perspective for you overseas folk, that is a full trolley of groceries with plently of change), I'm a little worried we won't be getting what we paid for.
Can anyone shed some directional light on what is happeing?
regards,
Paul

sorry man you are ripped.
that magazine never made it to the second issue. Chris tome tried to jumpstart that business by making the 3d vfx conference and the dvd, which also didnt make it to the second one and in the case of the dvd never.
I was one of the ten or eleven people that showed up to that conference besides the speakers and we never got our promised t-shirt or the conference material cd. But we got a subscription to a dvd magazine that will never come out, thats comforting.
so...... i would say the chances of you getting a second issue of IC3D is pretty much nonexistent.
hope that helps

3D|VfX and iC3D are not related in any way. Nor is CG Channel... :-)
Chris Tome was fired from DMG Publishing. He then launched 3D|VfX and his conference in SF which was a complete fiasco.
I talked with the Owner of DMG Publishing today and he assured me the next issue is well on its way. iC3D isn't dead...
