I am pretty sure it's possible, just can't quite figure out how.
I am trying to apply a material to a mesh where I want it to appear if one end is completely opaque, and the other end completely invisible. In other words the mesh (something like a long tube) needs to go from a normal material to literally nothing.
So far I suspect that is has something to do with the transparency or translucency slots of the material's Maps section. Doesn't quite work - yet!
Any pointers? I work with Max 5, and Raytrace mats.
Thanks...
