View Full Version : All polygons disconnected in highrez objects from client. (help!)

Hi, I received 3 big (millions of poly) object from a client. From Solid Edge software. Its Obj and all the polygons are disconnected. no way to select a part, it just select individual polys... the problem now is I have to apply polygons reduction on that object. The density is 100 time too much and I cant work with it.

Is there a way LW could reconnect all adjacent polygons? or could I apply a different poly reduction plugin??

Fixed! some guy reply in the XSI forum did the trick in one click!

"Model > Modify > Poly Mesh > Filter Points will merge overlapping points (and thus weld boundaries together)."

you could simply use weld points in lightwave...in Automatic it welds all the points that share the same coordinates and in Fixed mode it welds points in a certain threshold...very simple.
And you have at least 3 or 4 options to do some polygon reduction in lightwave.

Thanks Zardoz... I was thinking I had to select points individualy to weld.

Yeah im using the poly reducing tool in LW right now...
