View Full Version : Particle Designation
bessera 10-21-2008, 03:07 PM Is there a way I can desginate particles to fall and stay in one area instead of just hitting a surface and going wherever? For instance, if the particles are falling to a surface and I want them to fall into the shape of the letter A can I do that?

I don't have maya 2009 myself, but I guess (wild guess) there is a way of mapping the stickyness attribute of the nPaticles.

I am currently using maya 2008. I so far I planar mapped the letter created in maya. Made it collide with the letter and thats working okay so far. I think I might have to mess with the conserve now. I will look at particles stickness though!

Could you do it the opposite way and comp it? Have the A emit, and then play it in reverse in comp? Just an idea.

Cut out the area you want them to stick and make it have a higher friction (or stickiness, in 2k9). You can also mess around with goals.
