Hi

I’ve been lurking around for quite some time, but this is the first time I actually had the courage to ask for help.

I don’t have any kind of artistic education, but always loved to doodle and a year ago I found photoshop and decided to learn how to paint, with the help of all of the wonderful artists out there that share tips, tutorials and all kinds of assistance.

I did this “painting” awhile ago, and although I know it still misses a lot, I really don’t know what. Can someone give me some CC and pointers?

Thanks so much in advance and…. Love the world web community!

This is my painting

Badly painted blasphemy...how novel...Ah, the libidos of the young...

First, this is an "old" painting from "awhile ago." Certainly your skills have improved since then. Everyone's do...
Rather than critique an old work, upload something you are working on NOW. We don't do "retro crits" here that often...It's a waste of everyone's time, since your skills are NOT the same as "awhile ago..."
If you are wanting to pick up and work on this image, you need to start over, and do some Comp Roughs for better placement of your elements. You have essentially a lump in middle of a big canvas, with A LOT of empty, dead space that you don't need...

You write,a year ago I found photoshop and decided to learn how to paint, with the help of all of the wonderful artists out there that share tips, tutorials and all kinds of assistance.Your technical skills quite honestly do not show much in the way of learning. Do you have any tutorial results that you can show? Have you actually followed any of the tutorials you've read for the past year and created the images they demonstrated? What specifically did they help you learn?

Based on this old piece, you need to work on your anatomy, your perspective, your lighting, hair rendering, and fabric drapery.
