Great reel!

It might be smart to add some contact information like an email adress. You never know who sees it, they might have some work for you...it would be a shame when they can't contact you.

thanks alot for all the positive feedback. It's nice to hear.

Dreamwave, I didn't do lighting or modeling or compositing for those commercials. I was mainly just responsible for the character animation and some of the rigs..

Tangoman, the toonshaded stuff was done with patric jean's tomcat for maya. --Except for the psyop stuff, which was mental ray out of xsi.

Your character animation is wonderful. The movement is very fluid and natural. However, if I understood the lyrics correctly, I think that the music is very unprofessional. Keep up the great animation, though!

John,

I did work there for the Kraft stuff and the at&t stuff. I'm freelance. I actually moved from NY this past summer to pursue my animation dreams in "sunny" california.

psy_parasite,
I graduated in 1999 from SVA in NYC with a BFA in Computer A.R.t

jscheel ,

I thought about the music being a little much for some people, but I thought it was so much fun to watch, It wouldn't really matter so much.

Was there any collabaration with Alex Grey for that segment in the Tool video?the first time I saw that I was psyched about seeing the work of such an amazing fine artist transfer over to the world of CG, especially for such a great band like Tool.

Nice demo, personally, depending on your involvement, I would have put a little more of that in, its so short but such a great piece.

Yeah MPM, it was amazing.

I went to Adam Jones' house, Got to meet Alex Grey, and ended up on a team of fellow Tool fans. It was one of the coolest jobs because it was run by artists.

Jenga,

I went to SVA in New york for school. Ringling is an amazing school to be at judging by the work that comes out of there.. you definetly made a good choice.

Badkarma,

For the freestyle stuff, I did the shots that I put on my reel. I was one of four animators. 3d was done in maya, and compositeded in the flame.

Hey Jeremy,

First of all, awesome work! I love the simple dog and the stick figure using the head as a ball. Totally creative and nicely animated.

If I were to submit an animation reel to a company specifically to land an animation position, would a simple stick figure like yours suffice?

I'm definately inspired like the rest of us!

Alex Grey
Man, you sure are skilled to be able to do a CGI version of his X-ray characters, auras, electric energy and all, it appears from the picture. To work with him would be an honor, as it is even finding an exhibition online of someone that HAS the ability to do such good shit.

Nice work. I envy you.:applause: you got skeeylls

It's a darned shame that I'm on my job(library) computers, which will not let you install or upgrade.
I spent 45 minutes downloading only to find I can't watch it with any of the media viewers on these computers.
and this is why it is such a shame, especially:

everytime I do a piece of occasional artwork I experiment with different techniques to expand my ability. A JOB with functional art would be nice. but the library is nice and quiet. My last was a giger-esque(to the best of my ability) 2 pt perspective step up from my other one pt perspective robotic piece. I didn't copy giger, I did Spiderman 2099 with alot of tiny circuitry.

Anyway last week I decided to do something I've been trying to figure out for a while: an Alex Grey piece.
No, I don't copy the work(well except for the time I discovered Howard Terpning, but I hardly showed anyone that)
I have always dug completely into mysticism.
An infinity sign two snake Ouroboros with infinite eyes inside on fire. I don't think hes done that one(?)
So the day before yesterday I re-checked out Transfigurations, and studied the best one can with a big book(they don't have his other ones in our system yet, I reserved a copy of Mission of art, waiting, waiting) like a freakin' Alex Grey Disciple.
That guy appears to me as a genius.

And then I come across this yesterday, and I can't view it.
:annoyed:

turbahn,

The cg sand was done with geometry and particles. In the commercial there is a lump of sand that grows from the dog digging.. mostly geometry and particles.. (I didn't do any of that stuff)

ntmonkey,

I would imagine a reel with stick figures would be good enough, but the thing you have to remember is that if people don't see it on the reel. They think you can't do it. So I'd say it might be limiting your options to do only one type of character. People want to see at least some variety...

The click,

I'll put up a quicktime version soon. I just got the server, and I'm running all over the place, but It will be up soon.. maybe I'll drop the whole parabola section on there..

Hii jeremy. I had curiosity when i saw at tv the stickman ad time ago. And then here is one of the authors of the shot :). A couple of friends and I made a demo(demoscene) with similar concept on 2000. You can download it at

Reality,

The link didn't work, so I columbo-ed the file. I think it was the 3d stickfigure walking around in the photos. I haven't ever seen that before. The Nike stickman concept as far as I know was created at wieden + kennedy. I had absolutely nothing to do with the creative. Only Post production.

js33, I guess Hip hop's not for everyone.

I do not steal work. The work I put on the reel is all my animation. I don't do lighting, compositing, modeling or fx.(at least not for money) Just character animation.
