Title: Broken Lamps
Name: Lucas R. Miguel
Country: Brazil
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

Hey, everybody.

I made this little scene with the purpose of practicing my texturing skills, wich is still not very good :dunno:
I think the glass materials are ok, but the metal ones still bothers me a bit.

It´d be nice if you guys could give me some tips about creating this materials.

Thanks !
Take care, everyone.

metal texture: maybe reduce the bump amount (do you have any blur on the bitmap settings? If so, turn it down), and add the bitmap to the reflection channel too.
I see you're using Brazil - that has an anisotropic shader doesn't it? That would make a world of difference to this lamp.

Hey, man..thanks for the response.

So..I´m actualy using scanline render.
I think I agree with you about the bump..maybe it could be a little less intense. But I´m not using any kind of blur in the bitmap.
The hole material is a raytrace material. I used a very dark grey color and combined with a HDR bitmap on the envoirment slot to achieve this reflection.
Do you think I should do it diferently ?

Thanks again !
