Title: Aeroplane flying high
Name: Jes Fink-Jensen
Country: Belgium
Software: CINEMA 4D

This is my first aeroplane. I made it first of all as a test, to see how quickly I could get interesting results when modeling an aeroplane. The reason I did this is that I give 3D modeling classes and I wish to show my students how to make a model of some object based on reference material and how to set up the 3 views (top/side/front) in Cinema 4D. First I started out with a car, but I realised it would take too long before my students could achieve interesting results. Therefore I decided to try an aeroplane. This seems to be the right choice. Of course, after a while I got carried away and chose to make a complete scene.
The model is a Dassault Falcon 30 and the reference material was found on www.the-blueprints.com and on a Dassault website. The background is a photograph found using Google. It has a Creative Commons license and it seems OK for me to use it. The title is "Clouds over Croatia, seen from above" by Ante Perkovic.

Looking good, but (and there's always a but) I think the shadows are way too dark on the plane. Look at the density of the shadows on the clouds and then compare them to the plane.
If you lighten the shadows (maybe a little blue skylight, or whatever you've got in C4D), then I think this will be spot on.

Also, I think the plane looks too sharp against the clouds - perhaps a little film grain or something will help it integrate with the picture a little better.

Despite the comments above, it's a good piece of work.
