Title: Dirty Kitchen
Name: Magnus Larsson
Country: Sweden
Software: Modo

I wanted to do a dirty small kitchen as contrast to all the clean expensive kitchens you see renderd all time. This was Modeled in Modo and renderd in FryRender.

hey I really like your lighting, and the atmosphere of the scene. your texturing shows lots of attention to detail too.

Thank you all, Im glad you like my picture and it's very nice to see you all commenting on the things I put a lot of effort into ! :)

Spacelord, It was actually just a bump map for faster rendering.

This is a great picture Magnus!

Mycket bra jobbat, även fast jag sett den flera gånger innan så förvånas jag över realismen varje gång.
5 stjärnor från mig :)

Yay! A kitchen not straight out of the pages of a Homemaker magazine. Great attention to detail. DOF a little strong for me, but love the mood! 4* from me..

cheers,
Matt.

Feels like home. Awesome image, the render is amazing but why not render it in modo. Not that you needed to it's beautiful, just wondering.

Thanks again to everyones wonderful comments.

And to answer Drudalas question, actually I did try to render it in Modo also, but the Reflection/Refraction Depth made it imposible to get the blender glass right.
When it hits the set depth it goes black (I think however they intend to fix that after I showed them my results). Even at 5000 depth it produced strange black artifacts.
I suspect this is something that will only show on more "advanced" glass shapes.
Also not sure you noticed the little SSS going on the wheel on the dishwasher but that was also something that I was unable to recreate in Modo, and some other small stuff here and there.
Now I dont think Modo is a bad renderer, but I just couldnt cope with this scene in a way I wanted.

Hope it answers your questions =)

So many people do clean and shiny architectural renders of interiors. And they're empty. I love arch renders, but I'm not an architect, I'm an illustrator/artist. I like interiors to look like people live there. You've acomplished that quite well here.
