View Full Version : Thirdeye Can You Help?
geoffb 06-10-2003, 03:34 PM Hey I have a quick question for you. I am going through the Chevy Belair tutorial, trying to get into modeling cars, and I was wondering do you use the 7thChamber.com method of modeling, or do you use something else?
Regards,
Geoff

Make a search for KevinA posts here, there are some hints about making a car (and consider his cars are amazing) in a thread somewhere in this forum, i remember that thread was reaaally long :)

yeah i remember that post. so i assume that u use the kevin a method? i tired to do some models using his method, but i always find i have to tweak every single point, or at least it seems that way. i was just trying to figure out if you used something different. thanks.

KevinA's method, if I recall correctly, starts with actual cubes instead of planes. So if you're making a car's hood, you'd start with a cube wide and deep, but with very little height. Personally, I find it easier to work with flat planes and make the thicker later on (using either Edge Extrude or the plugin MakeThicker).
Just my 2 cents.

I guess it all boils down to your own personal style, because i have tried kevin a's way and it takes forever and for me it gives me really sharp edges and then i have to manipulate points a LOT! i personally think that the 7th Chamber method is a lot better.
