Wow that was pretty intense! Really cool action sequence! I'm sure that sequence is part of the TV show that Bolt belongs to.. maybe that's why it doesn't bother me so much that a boy and a pup are being chased like that. It's meant to be exaggerated. Loved the animation as well.

Penny is actually a 12 year old girl. And those aren't aliens, they are ninja henchmen. Aliens don't need motorcycles! :p

The helmet she is wearing doesn't help :) She kinda looks like a boy in that sequence :)

This one's much better than the rescue one. I love that bit where the soda cup fell to the distant explosion. :scream:

That was rather boring. I liked the first trailer way better. What it is with it so many of todays action sequences that they have no emotional impact? I think it has to do with these artificial camera moves that seem to make you feel like in a video game and give you no sense of real danger. Everything is in perfect focus, the camera always anticipates where the action is going to be and can move faster than anything real could. Plus the totally overused super slomo when he is jumping over the heli made me yawn. Sure it is supposed to be a cheesy super hero tv show, so it is ok that it is full of cliches but it just bores me pretty much. I hope the movie will be more like the previous trailer.

To be honest I am not too thrilled by the trailers. They kinda lack emotional depth. I realize they are jus trailers so I will reserve judgement until I have seen the movie.

Asking for emotional depth on an action sequence? of course :D

I loved it, really really awesome!

What i meant was that I can not really connect to the characters, I don't care much what happens to them being chased. Anyway don't want to argue here, just voicing my opinion.

cheers,

Totally agree, it just looks like Disney trying to appeal to the "kids" of today. Looks good yeah, but i just found it hard to care.

Still don't know why Disney just leave the 3D to Pixar, and pick their pencils up again.

I was thinking exactly the same, after all those "awesome", "great", and more, I was expecting something else apart from some "disney channel" ads. As you well put it, disney, please, leave the 3d to pixar.

That was a very nice action scene! Very well done, and lots of fun (a film with an exploding helicopter canīt go wrong... look at all those Chuck Norris flicks!:buttrock: ).

But, seriously, I really liked. If the film is half that fun, the kids will love it.

This is not a sequence that is suppose to make you care about the characters, or even feel that they are ever in danger. This is a fluffy action sequence to introduce you to the concept of the tv show and to begin to set up why Bolt believes he has super powers. It mostly is just entertaining.

Even an action sequence should build up some tension and empathy for the characters. This action sequence does not do this for me as well as the other two trailers. Pixar did it much better with the Incredibles and also with Buzz Lightyear's introduction action sequence in Toy Story 2.

Matthias

It is what exactly needs to be: a mindless, over-the-top, Michael Bay-esque action sequence.

Looking at both those sequences on the Apple site, the escape from the shelter and the chase, it seems Bolt will be a nice mix of action, comedy and Disney charm.

I can't wait to see it.

I think Michael Bay is everything that is wrong with cinema today.

I love being the devils advocate! But hey, I'm happy you all like it.

The story arc of the film works very very well, and when you see the whole thing, I suspect you'll change your tune. Saying too much now will ruin it. But you're entitled to your opinion.

By the way, it's SUPPOSED to look like Michael Bay directed it...but I will say no more ;)

Well said Adam. This sequence works as it suppose to within the story arc, you'll see.

Now, Adam... GET BACK TO WORK! ;)

Wow! That sequence looks great! I'm really excited to see this one! It looks like this movie will be a lot of fun to watch... some cg movies recently have left me feeling kind of "blah" about them but this one might be up there with KungFu Panda and Surf's up... ya know... the kind of movies that as your walking out of the theater you say "Let's go see that AGAIN!" (well for me anyway)
