Hi,

I wanted to ask You all, how to model this Character.

The big issue is the fact, that i can use only 3 materials: Gold (yellow area), Carbon-optic (grey area) and rubber (black areas).
The reason for the "Only-Material-Use" is to stay resolution-independend from textures used in Maya.

If I cannot use texture, i would have to model every "texture boarder" by splitting Polygons, right ?
If so, I would need a huge poly-resolution, because my Cybergirl has a super-smooth Shape.

Also, I have to consider that she has some mechanical Stuff inside her had, so I also need an inner shape.

The Girlīs made in Polys using CPS

Any Ideas ??

No-one of You got an idea ? :lightbulb

Iīm thinking to convert the Polys to Nurbs and project curves on the face to create additional Surfaces.
What do You think ?

poly to subD to NURBS is possible... anyways, i can't really tell wut the hell you're trying to model... it looks like a "B" to me. am i missing something? you could always use subD... you will have smooth surfaces reguardless of how close the camera gets and with maya's extrude face along path in maya 5 that shape would be really easy to create. also you could use procedural textures so that the textures will stay crisp reguardless of the distance from the camera as well. not sure exactly what you're tryin' to do so.... no idea of anything i mentioned would even work for ya.

berto, this isnt a drive up window. people are not reeling at the screen pressing F5 waiting for someone to post anything , you gotta chill babay. someone will answer someone, always answers.

im not sure what that is, in your description it sounded like you were talking about a robot? guh? if your on maya 5 i would just draw a side image of that and do alot of extrudes to get the shape. then once you got it all done, merged verticies and suce, i would maybe just smooth it that ... thing could be modeled really fast cause it just looks like a B or something. i would do that.

yah vermorph, i would make sure to ignore that B shape, that is just a texture on the face model the face using yourprefered method. then texture looks really simple. that help?
