Hi all, i have a problem smoothing a sharp mesh, i've searched the forum but i cant find something that can help me understand how to solve this:

and this is a zoomed of the strange thing that i want to fix:

basically i'm tryng to obtain from a corner of a mesh a smoothed corner (i post a would be section of the mesh, in red is the before smooth and white is the goal i'm trying to reach):

last i post a wireframe of the first image, i think that the strange triangle near the smmothed corner generate from the messed faces that lies in the mesh.... :

if someone know another method to do smoothed corner using or not meshsmooth please let me know , i'm crashing my brain in this.... :banghead:

thanks in advance.....

if you read the sud d thread its all about spiting the mesh at the corners correctly.
i would booleen the text out of a flat box, then select the front face, extrude it out, then bevel it, then extrude a smaller amount then bevel again. This creates a nice curve with only two poly radius. Then change your smoothing groups. Using mesh smooth in this case is probably not worth it, its going to create more polys than you will ever need on a small object.

you don't try to use the boolean substraction with two densed meshes?

to get nice smooth edges when mesh smooth is used you need to do this:
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68404

booleen cant do this, you would have to add all the polys where needed.
:D
