Title: Portrait of Cai
Name: Daniel James Cox
Country: Australia
Software: Painter

I painted this portrait of Cai while i was on a recent trip to Shanghai. She had such a lovely personality and although we couldn't really understand each other, she was happy to stand in the sun while i sketched her. I then finished the painting, alla prima when i was back in my studio, using Painter X. I kept in mind the work of masters like Richard Schmid and Mian Situ while i worked. Hope you're well Cai...Thanks, Daniel.

Extremely well done...

Can't figure what "oil painting mimic" means... I paint a lot using Painter - I used to paint a lot using oils... Painter is another kind of brush, it is every bit as challenging to paint using painter as with oils - just not as messy, and a lot more flexibility.

I like your impressionistic style.
