Hi all

I was just wondering if anybody knows what might be the problem here.
I render my scene from max, import it into Combustion 2008 and all looks like it should, but then when i save the work to Quictime, it seems to save it with brighter (duller) colours asif it has been gammad or something.

Regards,
Morne

What codec are you using?

I'm saving to H264, but I've since lerarned that this is a known bug apparently with quicktime and H264. What I don't know is how to overcome the problem from Combustion?

Not much you can do there, excpet use the inverse of the gamma being applied prior to rendering. The problem is figuring out the gamma that is being used.

There is a Quicktime Gamma Stripper that was one time posted by Frantic Films. Try tracking that down (Windows only application).

I found 2 different version of the Quicktime Gamma stripper, however both of them failed to find the the atom "gama" tag in my mov file and so no gamma was removed or adjusted and my file still seems washed out.

h264 is not a quicktime file which is why the gamma stripper doesn't work. It is a type of mpeg file.
