Is anyone aware of a site similar to 3d.sk, but NOT 3d.sk. I used to subscribe to that site, but I'm not a big fan of their work. As a former photographer, I'm bothered by the way they produce their content. I've seen some pics of them at work, and they're working in a small space, very close to the model; which requires using a fairly wide lens. This introduces strong perspective in their photos, which is the last thing you want when working in orthgraphic front and side views. Their content should be shot from a distance with a long lens, to flatten out the perspective.
The other issue I have (and I know I'm not the only one) is that their models look like people who just wandered in off the street, not professional models. I'm wanting to build a model of a very attractive woman; like, super model attractive. None of their photo sets are of women who are even remotely in that catagory.
Also, for skin textures, their lighting isn't nearly flat enough. Instead of using big soft boxes off to the side (which produces directional lighting), they should be using ring lights mounted on the lens.
So, if anyone knows of any sites out there with content produced specifically for 3D character artists, using professional models, and shot with the above considerations, I'd sure like to know.
Thanks.
BTW, I looked through the "Blueprints and other Resources" sticky but didn't find anything.
