View Full Version : Sketchy edge effect?

Hey guys! I have a quick question on how to achieve a (I hope to be) simple effect. I want to replicate the sketchy edge effect as seen in this save the children commercial:

I was thinking of maybe running a noise filter through an edge detect of my graphics, and using that as a matte. Are there any methods or better yet, any plug-ins which could help me achieve it? I mostly do Maya work, but I have to complete this for a class. Thanks!!

That's pretty clearly just Roughen Edges used in the clip, which more or less does what you propose already. Feel free to use other techniques as you see fit, of which there are too many to count. if you need further advise, just ask.
