View Full Version : Hair as geometry - rendering finalRender
I have been playing around trying to get nice looking renders, with finalRender, of hair using the geometry option. I just can't get the hair to look near as good as it does using the render effect rather than the geometry option. It seems that the problem is with the anti-aliasing. The geometry hair is always a little blocky compared to hair rendered with the render effect. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what settings to use to get good renderings for hair. Thanks in advance.

Aside from tweaking the AA settings (there is a show samples checkbox), I would try to make that a separate render pass and tighten it up in post. I always like to render out to rpf (assigning material and object ID's before rendering, of course), and be able to apply operators (in this case a slight blur and color correct maybe) to those isolated objects individually.

I will check out the link, thanks for the advice.
