View Full Version : Render Globals Camera Problem

I have camera1 and camera2 and camera3. In renderglobals I set the camera to camera2. I close renderglobals and reopen it. It has gone back to camera1. It stays set on camera1. Camera2 will render in the viewwindow by going panels->perspective->camera2, but I cannot batchrender with it.
Also, after the name of each camera it says (Renderable) which usually doesn't happen. Also, if I delete camera 1, it goes to camera2 and locks on that. So no switching to camera3.

Any idea what is going on?

It is standard situation when you have several renderable camera on the scene.

Instead of using only the selected camera, maya will render all renderable camera with the camera shape name appended as suffix to the file name.

To order maya to render only with specific camera you should tell maya which camera is renderable and make other camera non-renderable, either using Attr Editor for each camera and set on the output setting tab (renderable check box), or using Attribute spreadsheet.

If only one camera is set to renderable, then you can switch camera as usual, the one that was set in render globals will be the one that will be used for rendering.

Default setup is only one camera set to renderable (the last camera you create).

You can set the camera when batch rendering from the command line using the -cam <name> flag. This forces Maya to render only this camera.
