Hi,
First of all thank you for yet another awesome update...
I truly appreciate the added anim tools and grease pencil.

I moved some stuff that i was working on to the latest version...
and noticed that Blender 2.48 is crashing a lot while uv mapping.especially when the "sync UV and mesh" option is on...
is anyone else experiencing the same???
I also experience crashing while working with shaders in the node editor.

Thanks in advance.

I could be way off here, but have you updated your video card drivers?

Hi..
Yup...it's the latest.
I thought it might be the ATI issue but doesnt make sense because 2.47 worked flawlessly for me.
strange..

2.47 didn't have the option to use GLSL shaders in the 3d view. If you still get crashes after starting it with the "-noglsl" option set, you could probably rule out the drivers.

I would expect a "2.49" fairly soon. This release brings in all the new Apricot Project stuff and, due to its sheer complexity, some number of "hiccups" are to be expected...

Oh yes...the way they're churning out versions these days is amazing...
Kudos to all the contributors....wont be looking at another 3d tool for a long time to come :).

Hi...Thanks...This it seems to have worked for now :).

There is going to be a 2.48a bugfix release here within the next week. One of the things fixed are some GLSL issues with ATI. See bug #17829

There still may be issues with GLSL + ATI though, so if you get a crash when GLSL is enabled, but no crash doing the same thing with GLSL disabled, report it to the bug tracker.

Hi...
The no glsl option has been working consistently so far so conclude that it would be the ATI-glsl bug...
I checked the bug tracker...seems to be quite a number or similar crashing issues reported...so i guess its a known issue..
Thanks anyways...much appreciated.
