I'm completely new to the software, but I noticed something, the MEL script, does this mean I can program to make games INSIDE Maya?

My other question is, can I use low-poly models as game models and take them straight to C++ and Dark Basic, or do I have to do something like import the models into 3d Studio Max and then bring them into the programming software?

The MelBotWars (http://www.melbotwars.com) website should answer your first question....

i once did a fully functional pinball machine in maya running in real time with dynamics and animated textures and all..
was running fine on a (those days) Pentium II with 350Mhz :)
all with mel.

Alexx: hehe awesome!

shaitan_ghola: As for your second question, yes you can. I don't know what format you want the model data in, but it's not hard to do an exporter in MEL, or the API.
