hi everyone, long time sinse last, i have just finished one school project that i have named urban explorer. this was a brand identity ptoject that i did in cooperation with diesel. the task was to examin a non-car-producing-company and apply their "identity" or design philosophy to a vehicle.
i got a animation of it but i have to check with the company if i can post it on the net, dont wanna get sued.......

AW just stands for alias wavefront, and stodio tools is their modeling software, standard program in the car industry.

I like the concepts more then the finished work. Then again im soft at heart for concept stuff.

Most of the shots it looks like it was hastely put into them and doesnt match up. And according to your concepts, the whoel thign should only be about waist high, yet its uo the the guys chest in the final ones, i think thats what really kills it for me.

I like the concept & design. Don`t like the rendering so much.
the edges of the wheele are to shiny, to plastic like and attract most of the attention. Well but thats my point of view...can be wrong

dancing monkey : lawn mower......:( not wat i was aiming for but anyway;)

Soljarag and eMPeck: thanx

LordShaitan: yes thing have changed during the design process. when i did my sketch model i realiced the concept sketches was to low. i just couldent get all to fit in there and i wanted to have more clearence from the ground so it could take rougher terrain.

the rederd shots is fairly rough put together, i just didnt have the time to tweak everything before presentation deadline. the enveronment is wery simple for the same reson, and to keep the rendertime down for the animation.
maby i get the time to do some fancy renders later.....

]gRe[: i was aiming for aluminum rims but i agree they went to shiny, some are almoste like crome.......

here is some pictures of one sketch model, i did three of them but this was the one i used as underlay for the nurbs model.

An interesting design, although you would be screwed if that thing rolled over. And nobody's wearing a seatbelt! ;)

I like the versions in the sketches more than your renders for some reason. It looks more like a sports car than an off-road vehicle so when you tried to make it into an off-road vehicle by raising the whole thing it just looks a bit odd. For some reason it does bear a faint resembleance to a souped-up lawnmower :D

great concepts! i love well drawn sketches ;)

one thing why i dont like the renders.... its called urban explorer....wouldnt a city enviroment fit much better? ;)

stephen2002: i accualy got the safty coverd but thats just technical stuff.

sone_one: i was waiting for that comment, and the explenation is that the rig i built for the animation just couldnt handle rough edges like sidewalk edges and stairs that is in a urban environment. so i had to move it out from the city a bit, it accually rides a golf course instead.

but if anyone know a good way to build a rig that can handle all sorts of environments i would gladly hear about it.
